Bonnie Tse, senior vice-president of AIA Pension and Trustee, said the mini-QFII scheme — letting offshore institutions enter mainland securities markets with renminbi — favours small retail funds, in her first public remarks since AIA’s latest MPF fund fees comparison shake-up. But MPF funds are conservatively positioned, so no near-term impact is expected.
AIA is cutting fees on its World Bond Fund, MPF Conservative Fund and Global Equity Strategy Fund from 1.75% to 0.99%. Tse said demand for the three funds is strong.
AIA is in touch with the MPFA and will cooperate fully on the Employee Choice Arrangement. The company has about 4,000 licensed MPF intermediaries.
