What China-themed funds did Manulife launch via QFII in 2010?

In October 2010, Manulife launched two China-themed retail funds through the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (QFII) channel, totalling US$200 million: US$140 million in an A-share fund and US$60 million in a renminbi bond fund. Entry was HK$20,000, payable in HKD or USD, denominated in USD.

What were the funds’ features?

The A-share fund captured mainland equity opportunities; the renminbi bond fund rode rising offshore renminbi bond participation; Manulife said QFII remained the best mainland channel then.
