Preparing for the Employee Choice Arrangement: HR should review MPF providers now

The government has deferred the MPF Employee Choice Arrangement to complete intermediary-regulation legislation first. AIA-JF (AIA-JF) suggests HR use the breathing room to review their companies’ MPF providers’ performance and service.

What should HR review?

Fund choice, information services, switching flexibility. AIA-JF senior vice-president and executive director Bonnie Tse says HR should assess existing plans on fund selection, information services and how flexibly employees can switch funds — and consider adding a provider to give employees more choice.

What’s AIA-JF’s offering?

21 funds from aggressive high-risk to prudent low-risk. AIA formed AIA-JF with JF in 1999; members now get 21 funds across risk levels, with online account access and anytime portfolio switching.

How to stay current?

Watch MPFA announcements and attend seminars. Tse advises HR to follow MPFA news and join industry seminars to keep up with the latest MPF market developments.
