Policy Update: MPFA Proposes Contribution Cap Review

The Mandatory Provident Fund Authority (MPFA) announced its first review of contribution caps in 13 years, proposing to raise the maximum relevant income level from HK$30,000 to HK$40,000 (+33%), and the minimum from HK$7,100 to HK$10,500 (+48%).

Market Analysis

Analysts attribute the April rebound to stabilization in global equity markets, easing interest rate expectations, and strong performance in Hong Kong and mainland China stocks. The Default Investment Strategy (DIS) was among the biggest beneficiaries.
