Before Claiming Your MPF at 65, Count Your Accounts First

Job-hoppers easily lose track of how many MPF accounts they hold. The MPFA reminds scheme members that before claiming accrued benefits at age 65, the first step is to confirm every contribution and preserved account in your name, then request claim forms from the relevant trustees.

Is the claim process complicated?

Not really — but you file one form per scheme. Once you know your account count, request a “Claim Form for Accrued Benefits” from each account’s trustee, complete it and submit it with proof of identity. One form covers one or more accounts within the same scheme; accounts across two or more schemes need one form per scheme. Trustees verify the details, and claims normally take 30 working days.

What if you can’t remember your preserved accounts?

Bring your ID to the MPFA, or mail in a request form. Members can visit any MPFA office or enquiry centre during office hours with proof of identity, or download the enquiry form from the MPFA website and mail or fax it (3146 7367) with a copy of their ID to the Kwun Tong office — the MPFA replies by letter.
