HONG KONG — According to MPF Ratings data as of March 31, 2026, AIA’s Eurasia Fund has delivered an impressive 23.69% one-year return, ranking at the top of its peer group. Its 10-year annualized return of 6.53% also places it #1 in its category.

Fund Overview

The AIA Eurasia Fund is part of the AIA MPF – Prime Value Choice scheme. It aims for long-term capital growth by investing in a portfolio of Index-Tracking Collective Investment Schemes (ITCIS) that cover European and Asia-Pacific equity markets.

Investment Strategy: A Fund of Funds Approach

The fund operates as a “fund of funds,” building a diversified portfolio by investing in various ITCISs that track different market indices. It then actively adjusts its allocation between European and Asia-Pacific funds to enhance returns.

Three Key Advantages

  • Diversification: Investments span well-known companies across Europe and Asia-Pacific, including Samsung, Alibaba, and AstraZeneca, effectively spreading single-market risk
  • Lower Costs: Index-tracking funds generally have lower management fees than actively managed funds, keeping more of your money invested
  • Dollar-Cost Averaging: Monthly MPF contributions naturally implement dollar-cost averaging, buying more units when prices are low and fewer when high

Risks to Consider

Since the fund ultimately invests in equities, short-term volatility is inherent, making a long-term investment horizon essential. Additionally, the underlying ITCIS are designed to closely track their indices and are unlikely to significantly outperform the market. However, the fund makes active allocation decisions between European and Asia-Pacific markets to pursue enhanced long-term returns.

Industry Outlook: The AIA Eurasia Fund’s strong performance demonstrates that through cross-regional diversification and适度 active allocation, MPF funds can achieve outstanding returns while managing risk. Scheme members should consider their own risk tolerance and investment objectives when evaluating whether to include such funds in their portfolios.
