How do banks handle MPF contributions?

After receiving MPF contributions, banks or insurers buy corresponding fund units at market prices according to the fund ratios the employee chose; members can in fact switch funds online anytime — it’s not entirely out of their hands. The balance on the annual benefit statement reflects market value at the time.
