MPF Contribution Limits Under Review

The Mandatory Provident Fund Authority has announced a comprehensive review of MPF contribution limits, the first in 13 years.

Background

The current maximum relevant income level of HK$30,000 per month has remained unchanged since 2012, despite cumulative inflation of approximately 30% over the period.

Review Scope

  • Maximum relevant income level
  • Minimum relevant income level (currently HK$7,100)
  • Alignment with wage growth and cost of living

Recommendations are expected to be submitted to the government later this year.
