ING Urges MPF Improvements to Better Protect Workers

2011-08-03

In August 2011 ING called for wide-ranging MPF improvements — lower fees, stronger investment education and wider coverage — to genuinely protect workers’ retirement.

What does ING propose?

Cut fees, educate members, widen coverage. ING says trustees should cut fees further, step up investment education so members can choose funds wisely, and extend the system’s reach to more people.

Why speak up now?

Member choice is coming, and competition is heating up. With the Employee Choice Arrangement imminent, workers will pick schemes for the first time and competition turns fierce. ING wants system improvements to stand out in the fight.

What do members gain?

More choice, more information. Fiercer competition forces trustees to cut fees and lift service to keep clients; members get more comparison tools and educational resources to decide smarter. Compare MPF funds’ fees and track records at MPF fund comparison.
