Hong Kong stocks’ pullback drags MPF down: November average -1.17%, Japan equity funds defy with +3%

Hong Kong stocks retreated in November, dragging local mpf fund performance with them: Lipper reports all fund types averaged -1.17% in November, well below October’s +6.96%. Equity funds fared best with a mild -0.94%; mixed-asset funds fell 1.65%; bond funds slumped 2.69%.

Which regional funds stood out?

Japan equity funds beat the market with +3.01%. Greater China equity funds edged up 0.14% and North American equity funds 0.08%. Year to date, all fund types averaged +4.35%, led by equity funds at +5.9%; bond funds lagged at +3.62%.
