HK$6,000 Injection Row: Pro-Establishment Demands “Top-Up”

Why is the HK$6,000 MPF injection so controversial?

Over 30 pro-establishment lawmakers jointly pressed Financial Secretary John Tsang to study a “top-up”; the DAB wants the HK$6,000 withdrawable immediately, Economic Synergy suggests inflation-linked bonds instead — lawmakers won’t rule out vetoing the budget before seeing the plan. The public wants benefits now, not at retirement.

What should you do with the injection?

However it’s paid, money landing in your MPF deserves attention. Use it as a prompt to review your whole portfolio’s allocation — don’t just leave it idle.
